Five Class Card
Want to give yourself a chance to get into music class before committing to a full session? All Around This World occasionally offers a special "5 class pay-per-class card." The card costs $90 and is redeemable at the West Philly, Fairmount, South Philly and Fishtown locations for any class day or time (subject to availability). Come to class with your card and your family will get a CD and lyric sheet for that session. You'll also have a wonderful time singing with us and your child! One card is good for one child--each sibling must have his or her own.
Daily deal site Living Social is planning to run a special 5 class card deal from December 26th to January 1st! Questions and answers about the deal:
QUESTION: What's the deal with the deal?
ANSWER: It's for a 5 class, "pay-per-class" card. Original value $90, you pay $45.
QUESTION: Are these actually great classes?
ANSWER: You betcha! "All Around This World" was in Philadelphia Magazine's 2010 "Best of Philly" issue as "Best Date with Your Kid!!!" Also, check out
YELP reviews of music class especially those Yelp filters because they sound too good to be true.
QUESTION: Where can I use the card?
ANSWER: You can use the card at any class at the West Philly, Fairmount, Fishtown and South Philly locations, depending on space on the classes. Nest has its own deals going so you can't redeem it there.
QUESTION: How many vouchers can I buy?
ANSWER: One for your family, one gift. If you want to give the voucher as a gift on Christmas even though the deal hasn't run yet, make up an I.O.U. card, give the card as a gift, then buy the voucher on the 26th. If for whatever reason the deal doesn't happen, AATW teachers will still honor your card.
QUESTION: Do I have to use 5 classes in a row or can I come when I want?
ANSWER: Technically you can come when you want, though you and your children will have more fun coming consistently and getting to know the teacher, the other kids and the songs.
QUESTION: When does the voucher expire?
ANSWER: Again, technically, it's up in July 2012. Realistically, has any All Around This World teacher ever turned you away when you've wanted to sing? (space permitting, of course)
QUESTION: How do I redeem the voucher once I buy it?
ANSWER: E-mail redeem@allaroundthisworld.com or call Jay at 215-913-2679 to RSVP for a class. If you are interested in a class other than in West Philly Jay will pass your information along to the teacher in your neighborhood.
QUESTION: I have two kids. Can I bring them both on one voucher?
ANSWER: Actually, yes.
QUESTION: Do I get a CD with the music for the session or do I have to pay extra?
ANSWER: One is included. And a refrigerator magnet with the lyrics too. (The deal keeps getting sweeter and sweeter, doesn't it?)
QUESTION: What if I have more questions?
ANSWER: E-mail Jay or call him at 215-913-2679.
Happy holidays!
Weekend Class Card
To accommodate West Philadelphia families who can only come to weekend classes Jay has developed the All Around This World Weekend Class Card for his West Philly classes.
This is a great option for families with truly unpredictable schedules and families from distant parts of the area. If you can't come to West Philly each week, but would look forward to making the trip as part of a Saturday of fun, the Weekend Class Card is for you.
QUESTIONS and ANSWERS
QUESTION: How much does a Weekend Class Card cost?
ANSWER: There are 10 classes on each card.
For the first child: $170
For the second child $135
For the third child:
10 classes -- $100
QUESTION: How do I register for the Weekend Class Card?
ANSWER: Fill out the registration form. In the box marked "First choice of class" put "Weekend Class Card."
QUESTION: How will Saturday classes be different than weekday classes?
ANSWER: One of the best things about regular weekday classes is that families are able to develop a rhythm -- kids get used to seeing the same kids every week, parents look forward to seeing the same parents, and Jay will be able to really see each child develop throughout the 11 weeks of class and tailor the class to each child's needs. Parents and children also learn the songs over several weeks, which is one of the best things about the program. Saturday classes will be great fun! They'll just be a little less predictable, with a lot of new faces and new things to do each week. Come along and you'll definitely have a great time.
QUESTION: Can families that take regular during-the-week classes use Saturday classes as make-ups?
ANSWER: Yes, as long as you RSVP.
QUESTION: Can families with a Weekend Class Card come to weekday classes?
ANSWER: Nope, weekday classes are for those who have signed up for those classes. If you're interested in signing up for a weekday class you can always talk with Jay about schedulig a free trial for a particular weekday time period to see if you and your children fit into that class.
QUESTION: What if I have a Class Card for two or more of my children but they don't all come together to a Saturday class?
ANSWER: We can figure out which child you'd like to consider the "first," "second" and "third" children -- for Class Card purposes only! -- and only count the class for the children who actually attend.
QUESTION: What if I don't end up using my classes?
ANSWER: Class credits don't expire so unless you're moving out of the area or have some other reason that you'll never be able to come to class, you should keep it. In general there are no refunds, but if you do have a real complication, talk with Jay.
QUESTION: Is there an actual card?
ANSWER: Of couse Jay will give you a card!
