SEEKING CITY-WIDE COORDINATOR FOR PARENT/CHILD WORLD MUSIC CLASSES (coorindator licenses the program material, hires teachers and sets up own classes)

“All Around This World" (http://www.AllAroundThisWorld.com), an energizing, interactive program that introduces small children (infants to 8 years old) and their parents/caregivers to world cultures through mutual exploration of global music, is seeking a SELF-MOTIVATED, ENTHUSIASTIC, ORGANIZED and RESPONSIBLE individual who will become the local CITY-WIDE COORDINATOR OF "ALL AROUND THIS WORLD" CLASSES.

As an All Around This World city coordinator, you will license the program materials and set up class locations in several parts of the city, finding dynamic teachers who will share world music with kids and their families. You will be responsible for things like developing class schedules, coordinating city-wide publicity and hiring and working with teachers. All Around This World founder Jay Sand will train your teachers and work with them and you to assure your/their classes are great.

As a licensed All Around This World city coordinator you will be starting your own independent business and will be responsible for making it great. You will earn money based upon the number of families that are taking classes in the locations you've developed, so the more thriving classes you coordinate the better. You will work closely with Jay on all aspects of making your operation a success, but ultimately you'll be the one responsible for its rise or fall. You will also be able to make your own hours, work from home if you choose, and spend your time on the task as you see fit, all while you get to be responsible for organizing classes that help instill children and their grownups with an appreciation for the many musical wonders of the world.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • ORGANIZATIONAL ABILITY necessary to develop and manage a city-wide operation that may ultimately consist of several robust locations, each offering multiple All Around This World music classes.
  • the kind of PERSONALITY that will enable you to work well with with teachers, parents and their children and to inspire them to want to work with you. (you don't have to be a parent, or have a background in education, but having experience working with children and their parents in some capacity would definitely help)
  • the PATIENCE, PERSISTENCE and MOTIVATION to build your set of locations from scratch
  • EXPERIENCE coordinating a project of this size--perhaps running your own business, managing a non-profit organization, directing a operations of a large community group, etc. Experience with payroll, bookkeeping, insurance and other logistical aspects of running a small business would be a real plus.
  • your own CURIOSITY about world musics and cultures
  • the ability to pass all legal background checks and child-abuse clearances
NOT REQUIRED:
  • vast foreknowledge of world musics and cultures (you just need curiosity about the world)
  • the ability to play an instrument (you will be working as a coordinator, not as a teacher...though, you will be required to develop substantial familiarity with the content. If you're musical, that's a huge plus.)
  • previous day-to-day experience working with children (again, you're coordinating, not teaching directly, though having experience working with children certainly helps)

People of any race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, nationality, alienage or citizenship status, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, disability, veteran status, etc. are welcome to apply.

TAKE NOTE: Being an All Around This World city coordinator isn't a salaried position; the amount of money you earn will depend on how many classes you and your teachers run in your area. Turning this task into a full time job is a reasonable goal, but if a full time job is what you need immediately, or if you're looking for a job that offers a fixed salary with benefits, this task isn't right for you; please don't apply.

ALSO TAKE NOTE: You will be responsible for providing the instruments your teachers will use while teaching (shaker eggs, rhythm sticks, etc.) and also for paying for local advertising. There is no "buy-in fee" to become an All Around This World city coordinator, but you will have to be able at least afford to fund the instruments and local publicity. (Jay will coordinate national publicity and events like an All Around This World concert tour.) To learn how much these things cost, follow the "LEARN EVEN MORE HERE" link. Please don't apply if you ultimately won't be afford to buy the instruments and support at least some advertising.

If this interests you at all, please follow the "LEARN EVEN MORE HERE" link below before contacting All Around This World about the task. Following the link will get you to a page--quite a long page--that will provide you with an extensive overview of what the task will entail. Please look at it and decide if you're a good candidate before being in touch.
