HOW IS ALL AROUND THIS WORLD DIFFERENT?
All Around This World is a thoroughly musical program built with a firm commitment to early childhood music instruction and will enable you to introduce your students to an astounding variety of melodies, rhythms and multilayered approaches to songs...but there are a lot of fantastic methods that provide young kids with the fundamentals of music. All Around This World will not replace your preferred method of preparing tiny children to translate musical aptitude to music achievement.
Instead, All Around This World will enhance the great work you already do by giving you access to the only world cultures program for little children that enables teachers to communicate multilayered global issues through singing, dancing and FUN. The THREE YEAR CURRICULUM CYCLE consists of hundreds of songs, traditional dances and holiday celebrations that will enable you to introduce your students to countries and cultures from every continent. (Don't worry, teachers don't have to learn every song and dance right away! If you stick with the program for three years you'll be able to take your kids all the way around the world.)
Jay thoughtfully sourced and adapted every song to distill its essential melodic, rhythmic and cultural elements, then extensively tested each in his classrooms to make sure they work with infants to nine year-olds. Jay also created All Around This World very consciously to be developmentally appropriate not just for children, but for grown-ups too. Every All Around This World song has motion and interactive fun for children baked in, but enough historical, political and cultural context to keep you as a teacher, other teachers in your school, and any adults that join your parent-child classes, engaged.

YOU NEED
EXPERIENCE. All Around This World is currently looking for licensees who are already experienced teachers of little kids. Ability to play guitar/ukulele is a serious plus, since Jay teaches using a guitar and will demonstrate how to teach each song as he does, though other portable instruments might work. Jay will ask you to submit video of your teaching as an audition.
The kind of PERSONALITY that will enable you to work well with with teachers, parents and their children and to inspire them to want to work with you.
The PATIENCE, PERSISTENCE and MOTIVATION to develop relationships with schools and the sense of RESPONSIBILITY to follow through on your promises.
The ability to pass all legal background checks and child-abuse clearances.
YOU DON'T NEED:
Vast foreknowledge of world musics and cultures -- you just need curiosity about the world.
Formal music training. If you can read music, great! But whether or not you’ve studied music theory you must be able to teach intuitively while remaining enthusiastic, engaging and kind.

WHAT YOU GET AS A LICENSEE
ALL THE GOODIES
As an All Around This World licensee you will have full access to the curriculum — lyrics, mp3s, song background info, etc. — as well as to all available teacher training materials, from manuals to lesson plans to song-by-song teacher “how-tos.”
Jay designed all the training materials not only to be able to show you he teaches the songs, but also to exist as stand-alone materials -- both videos and lesson plans -- that you can share with students in your schools. If you want Jay to "teach" any of the songs or dances to directly to your students, he's right there on video to help.
