In music class this week we meet the talking drum, a West African drum that musicians can make “speak.” When I put drums in the hands of kids from Philadelphia’s Saint Mary’s Nursery School Summer Camp they didn’t make them talk using tones, but instead created their own signature rhythms. How do you sound in “drum?”
