Puerto Rico–Language

Puerto Rican Spanish blends traditional Spanish, English, Taino and African languages to a form unique Spanish dialect. Some Puerto Ricans who live in the United States regularly slip back and forth between Spanish and English, even using both languages within the same sentence. While some pejoratively refer to this as “Spanglish,” others are take this blend more seriously as an indication of an impending linguistic fusion.
