Honduran music varies from traditional salsa, merengue and reggaeton to distinctly Garinagu yet still quite diverse Punta. In the late ’70s/early ’80s, Belizean musician Pen Cayetano blended traditional Garinagu music with electric guitars to form Punta Rock, which has helped to revive Garifuna language and culture and has is still a popular form of dance music across Central America and the Caribbean.
